Men do not often think about getting their nails done. However, there are some men these days which fully understand the importance of nail care. However feminine it appears to be, looking after your nails when you are a man is just as important as looking after your nails as a woman.
It is all about appearance as well as for health reasons, and like women; men like to look good too. So if you do not already, why not start looking after your nails today?
Manicures and Men:
A lot of men are having manicures done to make their nails look cleaner and tidier. It does not matter if you decide to have a professional manicure, or if you want to do it yourself at home, keeping your hands and nails healthy and tidy is an essential part of grooming.
You really need to start thinking of yourself and ask yourself certain questions regarding your personal hygiene. How many times a week do you clean the toilet? Eat? Sneeze? Tidy up etc? Then think about when you shake hands with someone. Could this be a potential clien women's coats t or business opportunity? If you have dirty broken nails, this handshake could be potentially nasty for the other person, so it is always a good idea to look after your nails. Your nails really can leave a long and lasting impression with others, so really you need them to be as clean as possible at all times.
Proper nail hygiene is all down to proper nail care, and ensuring that your nails are in tip top condition. Basic care and hygiene will really go a long way. However a lot of men who want their nails done are clueless as to how to go about it. A quick pointer before starting your new nail care regime, is that your nails must be clean at all times in order to ensure proper hygiene, and so the main thing you will need is a nail brush. Even if that is all that you use, it will keep you nails nice and clean.
Looking after your cuticles may seem a little feminine, but believe me it can help to prevent you from tears and cracks which could be potentially harmful! It is best to try and pick a product which is specifically designed to remove or to soften the cuticles.
To use the product, you apply it to the cuticle and then the skin will have to be pushed back using a small stick especially designed for this purpose (usually an orange stick). This will only take a few minutes so it should not take too much time out of your hectic lifestyle!
If you want to shorten your nails you should not clip them, but instead use an emery board to help file them down. A nail clipper can sometimes break your nails or leave them jagged and rough.
If you want to really go for the healthy and sophisticated look, you may consider buffing your nails which will give them a little shine. You will not have to worry about looking slightly feminine, as the look is not usually as shiny as a clear nail polish. You can find a nail buffer in a nail care section of a drug store, or you could even browse online.
To use the buffer properly, you gently rub the top of the nail to create the shine, and it is usually quite simple to achieve. If you use nail polish, you can use a nail polish remover to get rid of it, but try and use it as little as possible to avoid drying the nails out. You should never try to peel or scrape the polish off or use any metal or sharp objects on the nail surface to push back the cuticles as this could really damage the nail.
If you do not want to do all of this yourself or you simply cannot be bothered, you can always get it done properly by a professional manicurist. This will be an indulgent treat and your hands will feel great and look great too. With a manicure you get a nice hand massage as well as full nail care. So it can be easy to look after your nails with just a little bit of care, and no one needs to know that you do it if you do not want them to.
Generally mens nails are a little tougher than womens nails, but that does not mean that you do not have to look after them just he same as a woman does!
